Privacy

Your files never leave your computer.

Video Tagger is a desktop app, not a cloud service. Your library structure, filenames, and video contents stay on your disk.

What that means

There's no telemetry, no analytics, and no crash reporting. Provider lookups start from your machine using your own network settings and API keys. We don't see your searches.

FAQ

Questions you might have.

What does Video Tagger actually do?
It adds cover art, descriptions, and proper names to your personal video files, then writes the sidecar files that Plex, Jellyfin, Kodi, and Emby expect — all stored next to your videos on your own computer.
Does it upload my videos or filenames?
No. The app runs entirely on your Mac. Your videos, filenames, and library structure never leave your disk. Provider lookups are made directly from your machine.
Can I undo changes?
Yes. Every apply creates an undo record. You can undo single files or whole batches, and the records persist even after you close and reopen the app.
Which media servers does it support?
Plex, Jellyfin, Kodi, and Emby. Choose a built-in compatibility profile in Settings, or create your own custom naming format.
Do I need a TMDB API key?
Yes, for TMDB movie & TV lookups. TMDB offers free personal keys. Other providers may have their own requirements, and the app doesn't include any shared key.
What does the Pro license include?
Pro lets you keep using Video Tagger after the 7-day trial and unlocks batch apply, batch undo, custom naming templates, and priority email support.
What about Windows?
macOS is the first platform. A Windows version is planned — sign up on the download section above and we'll email you when it's ready.
